Recycling

From steel to paper, our facilities recycle many of the materials they use to reduce our impact on the environment.

Our facilities recycle many of the materials they use to reduce our impact on the environment:

  • SteelLearn more about our commitment to steel recycling
  • Cardboard
  • Paper — Obsolete product literature and office paper waste is recycled, and company records are recycled annually as allowed by law. Our sales representatives use electronic devices in the field, reducing the need to carry printed literature. Our literature is also available online. Some of our facilities use eFax and eBilling solutions to reduce their paper consumption.
  • Wood pallets used to store or deliver materials are returned to our vendors for repair or parts, or repaired and recycled.
  • Plastic bottles
  • Soda cans and glass
  • E-waste — Computers and accessories, monitors and cell phones are data-cleansed before being sent for recycling. Printer ink cartridges are recycled at many branches using vendor-administered recycling programs.
  • Water — We recycle the small amount of water we use when we manufacture steel products.
  • Oils, coolants and lubricants
  • Stretch-wrap
  • Batteries
