Hugh B. Oliphant Award

At the 2006 International Sales Meeting, sales people from each branch were nominated for the Hugh B. Oliphant (HBO) Award, a tradition dating back many years, honoring the memory of one of Simpson's best known and most effective salesmen. Hugh was much more than a former sales representative, Sales Manager, and one of the early Vice Presidents of Sales & Marketing at Simpson Strong-Tie. He was an inspirational leader, friend and mentor. Hugh developed and nurtured the core values that helped shape Simpson Strong-Tie into the company it is today. Our customer focus, respect for individuals and work ethic are part of his legacy.

Tim Ellis

This year, Tim Ellis was declared the HBO winner in the Connector category, recognized for his contribution as the company's Anchor Tiedown Systems specialist. In this role, he coordinates a very successful niche of the Simpson Strong-Tie business for Brea. Tim uses his skills of relationship building, problem solving, long-term planning and perseverance to build this product line to a significant share of the market.
